If a term supports RTS/CTS, use that instead of this method. Also, use

This is the executable BASIC program that is listed in message# 41314.
The program lets you transfer files from a C-64 to any other computer that
is equipped with a modem that will do 300 bps. Neither a modem nor an
RS-232 interface adapter nor a SwiftLink cartridge is required at the C-64
end. SID is used as a tone generator to implement the Bell 103 FSK 300 baud
standard. You must connect the audio output (available at the AUDIO/VIDEO
connector) to a telephone cable that connects to the other computer's modem.

This file, for the Commodore-64, will give you the 16-bit CRC
(Cyclic Redundancy Check) of a file. The CCITT polynomial is used, the
same one used in Xmodem/CRC and Ymodem. You may select either a machine
language or a BASIC routine. The BASIC routine takes forever; don't select it
unless you are either serving a life sentence, or are marooned on a tropical
island. But the BASIC lines should make it easier to follow the algorithm
   used.
